Linking submarine cables to Bangkok

The partnership allows Telehouse Thailand to connect directly to NT’s international submarine cable system from the Sri Racha Submarine Cable Station to the Telehouse Bangkok building. This connection provides access to the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) and Asia America Gateway (AAG) systems, enabling fast, stable links to key global hubs such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and even direct connections to the United States. The ADC network spans seven countries—China, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—all home to major cloud and content data centers.

Support for AI and cloud growth

Colonel Sanphachai Huvanand, President and CEO of NT, emphasized that this initiative will bolster Thailand’s readiness in the AI era. With terabit-level throughput capacity and a highly stable network design, the collaboration creates opportunities for digital entrepreneurs, cloud providers, and content companies considering Thailand as a data investment destination.

Ken Miyashita, Managing Director of Telehouse Thailand, added that submarine cable connectivity will be critical in meeting the fast-rising demand for cloud services and generative AI applications. Telehouse has already strengthened its infrastructure by adding four fiber links to deliver reliable, efficient connectivity in Bangkok.

Driving Thailand toward digital hub status

The collaboration not only enhances business opportunities but also aligns with the government’s strategy to transform Thailand into the ASEAN Digital Hub. By combining NT’s submarine cable systems with Telehouse’s expertise in interconnection data centers, the partnership sets the stage for international-standard digital infrastructure.

This landmark collaboration between NT and Telehouse represents more than a technical upgrade. It is a strategic leap toward making Thailand the preferred gateway for international data flows, cloud services, and next-generation AI applications. The move ensures that Thailand is prepared to compete in the fast-growing digital economy of Asia, offering stability, speed, and scalability to global partners and investors. With such efforts, Thailand is no longer just a regional player but on its way to becoming a truly global connectivity hub, redefining its role in the digital age for years to come.
